"HEART LIKE A TRUCK"
Hey this is Lainey Wilson and my new song, "Heart Like A Truck," is for anybody and everybody who's been through hard times, hard luck, heartbreak. It’s about finding freedom in your strength and about not being afraid of the scars and the bumps along the way because it builds some character.

"HILLBILLY HIPPIE"
I got the idea for my song “Hillbilly Hippie'' when I was driving down to Alabama to pick up my French Bulldog who I ended up naming Hippie, she's spoiled rotten. But this is a fun head bobbin' track for my friends who like to get willied up with a whiskey drink.

"ROAD RUNNER"
I was on a writers retreat with Dallas Wilson and Trannie Anderson, two of my favorite song writers. We like to call ourselves the “Heart Wranglers”. Anyways, we were out on a trail ride in Arizona on this retreat and we saw a roadrunner bird. That's really all it took to spark this song idea, it's a song about how I feel when I'm running. I’m not running from anything in particular but there's just always a part of me that just has to run.

"WATERMELON MOONSHINE"
"Watermelon Moonshine" is a nostalgic song about getting buzzed on that young wild crazy kind of love. A time in your life when nothing else mattered except for the way that you were feeling in that moment. I remember being 15-16 years old, all in love, my boyfriend coming to pick me up, finding a turn row or somewhere in behind a grain elevator. Those were the days...

"GREASE"
I cannot sit still when I'm listening to "Grease." Now we're cooking with grease is something that my mama used to say and that's really where the song started. When Jay Joyce, my producer got his hands on this one he had Charlie Worsham play a guitar lick on the bridge which ended up sounding like actual grease poppin' in a skillet. Pretty dang cool.

"WEAK-END"
I was kind of in a dark place when I wrote “Weak-end.” We have all been on the weak end of a breakup and this song is about what it looks like and feels like. But time heals all. And that's what keeps us hopeful through the hard times and the heartbreak.
-
"ME YOU AND JESUS"
When I was writing “Me You And Jesus” I was reminded that I am never alone. And neither are you. My faith and the folks that I lean on can get me through anything.
-
"HOLD MY HALO"
“Hold My Halo” is my party song and everybody's gotta have one of those. You know we all work so hard and we bust our tail day in and day out just trying to get somewhere. Trying to get put on the map. But at the end of the day there's absolutely nothing wrong with letting your hair down and letting loose every now and then. That's what this song is about.
-
"ATTA GIRL"
I wrote “Atta Girl” about things that I wish people would say to me when I'm trying to recover from the weak end of a heartbreak. It ain’t ever easy but it's about that feeling of moving on and stepping into the light at the end of a dark tunnel.
-
"THIS ONE'S GONNA COST ME"
I love the lyrics of the chorus of “This One’s Gonna Cost Me'.' “Ain't no buzz like love and loves like a drug and hell drugs ain't ever free”. If that ain't a metaphor for ya. This one is about having a good time and knowing that you're going to have to pay for it one way or another, but you do it anyways.

"THOSE BOOTS"
“Those Boots” is a song inspired by one of my favorite childhood stories. It's a song about bringing my daddy his boots in the morning when I was a little girl. I think the story telling in this song paints a really vivid picture for the listener to feel the heartfelt sentiment that went into writing this song.
-
"LIVE OFF"
I had to write my song "Live Off" because no matter where life takes me it is very important for me to remember exactly where I come from and how I was raised staying true to myself, my values, and my morals. I could be thousands of miles away from my tiny hometown in Northeast Louisiana but I drag my roots wherever I go.

"WILDFLOWERS AND WILD HORSES"
“Wildflowers and Wild Horses” is a song inspired about why I am the way that I am. My daddy is a cowboy, a farmer, a horse trader, the man does it all. I was on a horse before I could even walk and I grew up going to horse sales every single weekend. My sister and I were PRCA rodeo flag girls and I'd sing The National Anthem at some of our local rodeos. This song is just truly about my raising and my family tree and why it made me who I am.

"WHAT'S UP (WHAT'S GOING ON)"
“What’s Up” is a cover song that was written by one of my favorites Linda Perry and originally recorded by her band 4 Non Blondes. This is a song that I've always loved covering in my live shows because it gets people on their feet and smiling no matter where I'm at. It’s just a crowd favorite.
